After 11 incredible years of supporting children and
families across our community Togs as an independent charity and service is
coming to an end. However, we are delighted to share that, in principle, Dundee
Bairns will be taking the service forward. This represents a wonderful
opportunity for the future, allowing children and families to benefit from
enhanced support that a larger organisation, with a commitment to helping our
community thrive, can provide.
We are immensely proud of everything that has been achieved
over the past decade. None of it would have been possible without the
unwavering support of our volunteers, partners, funders, supporters and the
many families who have been part of the Togs journey. Your kindness, generosity
and belief in what we do have helped make a meaningful difference to countless
lives, and for that we will always be grateful. However we’ve recognised that
to grow and evolve and to reach more Bairns, change is needed.
We are currently working closely with Dundee Bairns to
finalise the arrangements and ensure a smooth transition, with the aim of
protecting the values and impact that have always been at the heart of Togs,
creating new opportunities for growth and development.
With immediate effect, and moving forward, referrers are
asked to contact Dundee Bairns directly at info@dundeebairns.org for
assistance.
Although this marks the end of one chapter, it is also the
beginning of another. We look forward with optimism and excitement to seeing
the legacy of Togs continue and evolve at Dundee Bairns, reaching even more
children and families in the years ahead as part of a holistic service.
From all of us at Togs, thank you for being part of our
story. The support you have shown over the last 11 years has created a legacy
that will live on

Togs is a non-profit organisation serving Dundee and the surrounding areas. We aim to be the ‘go-to’ service for families struggling to provide essential clothing and equipment for their children (any baby or child classed as a dependant).
We run similarly to a food-bank – we receive donations from the public and distribute them to children suffering from the effects of poverty. Our service is for anyone struggling to afford what we believe is an ‘essential’ after food and fuel for the healthy development of children pre-birth to 18, Including items for expectant mothers.
A referral can be made by anyone who is not a friend or family member/carer of the child. The reasons for referral are varied, from financial pressure due to changes in circumstances to the general effects of living in a low or single income family.
Togs could not run such an essential and well-used service if it wasn’t for the kindness of the public.
We’re always looking for donations. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings 0930–1230 for donation drop-offs.
We’re also now open Monday and Tuesday evenings 1830-2030
If you’d like to help but don’t have items to donate you can purchase something from our Amazon wish list.
We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us out. Whether it’s an hour here and there or a few hours a week we just
couldn’t run Togs for Tots without our amazing volunteers.
